Two injured during a clash at polling center in Budhiganga

Voting was suspended at Trishakti Secondary School polling center in Budhiganga of Bajura on Thursday due to a clash between cadres of different parties. The clash took place after there were allegations of casting fake votes.

Ward chairperson candidate from CPN-Unified Socialist party Bharat Bahadur Thapa and a voter Sita Thapa sustained injuries on her head in the incident.

Police fired warning shots and tear gas after to control the situation according to DSP Surya Bahadur Thapa. Police stated that they were attempting to resume voting by calming the situation. Locals have complained that although more than 100 security personnels from Nepal Army, APF, Nepal Police and National Investigation Bureau were deployed at the polling center their role was not effective. 

Voting was cancelled in Budhiganga on May 13 due to inadequate security provision.
