Pralhad Chaulagain, a central member of YCL, the youth wing of CPN Maoist Center, resident of Indrawati Rural Municipality-8 in Sindhupanchok, has threatened to kill those who speak against the Left-Democratic Electoral Alliance On October 30 by posting a message on the wall of his Facebook profile. Chaulagain's message was supposedly directed towards cadres of CPN-UML. In the message he blamed UML cadres of attempting to create chaos by circulating an old video. 

The Civil Election Commission has said that issuing death threats through social media is a violation of the Election Code of Conduct. The election code of conduct also prohibits sharing misleading, false, and malicious information on social media with the purpose of influencing the election.
