Bijay Nepali, a journalist was assaulted by police on November 3, while he had gone to collect information regarding a news report about temporary police. Police reportedly abused him asking him to delete the picture that he took while collecting news. A team of journalists including Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ) Kaski chairperson Vimala Bhandari reached the police office demanding investigation into the incident and action against for any abuse and misconduct from the police.
On the occasion, President Bhandari said that such incident happened due to the wrong attitude of the police administration towards journalists and said that it is necessary to change the attitude of the police towards journalism. District Police Office Kaski issued apology for the incident and promised not to let such incident of abuse and misbehavior on journalists happen in future.
