Shankar Kumar Safi a 21-year-old youth of Koshi rural municipality-7 in Morang was physically assaulted by around 4-5 cadres of the ruling alliance on November 16 during an electoral campaign assembly organized by the ruling alliance in Katahari rural municipality-3. According to the eyewitnesses when Safi questioned Amanlal Modi, a CPN (Maoist Center) candidate for the House of Representatives election from Morang constituency no-4, regarding his achievement over the past 10 years, Modi's cadres who were agitated by the question physically assaulted him.

According to Safi, he sustained an injury on his ear due to the assault. After the incident, Modi requested Safi for a tea meeting but he refused to meet.
