Cadres of CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra party, Independent candidates, and other political parties staged a demonstration in Syangja on November 23 demanding re-election in three wards of Chapakot municipality in Syangja. The demonstrating parties and candidates alleged that the the cadres of Nepali Congress captured election booths in these wards of Chapakot. CPN-UML secretary Rajendra Dumre alleged that the petition was filed demanding re-election along with the resignation of the election officer and the security agency, accusing them of being silent observers while Congress cadres were capturing election booths.
In Syangja, two constituencies, the number of voters is 2,44,099 and 1,41,205 voters have voted. In terms of percentage, only 58.84 percent of the total votes have been cast. However, in three wards of Chapakot Municipality, about 98 percent votes have been casted. So the demonstrators alleged that the Nepali Congress occupied the booth.
