Police arrested 35 year old Md. Abdul Salam of Samsi rural municipality-2 of Mahottari accused of torturing and murdering 49 year old Md. Khursaid Ansari from the same place. Salam called Ansari early morning on December 21 for household work. He was hired by Salam for work only 4 days earlier on a salary of 15,000 rupees per month.
The locals knew about the incident after Ansari was thrown out of Salam's house on the afternoon of December 21, in half naked and seriously injured condition. He was taken immediately for treatment at Janaki Healthcare in Janakpur, but could not be saved.
The police also recovered a video that showed Salam assaulting Ansari. The police had difficulty in arresting Salam, as he tried to burn his buttocks by spreading petrol. Salam was under the influence of drugs during the incident, and was also arrested for two times in a case related to drug abuse.
