Federation of Nepal Tribal Tribes, Kirat Rai Yaokkha Khotang staged a demonstration on March 1, in protest after province 1 was named as 'Koshi Province'. The demonstrators burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Karki, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Uddhav Thapa, and Maoist Parliamentary Party Leader Indra Angbo. Participants at the protest demanded to scrap the Koshi name and chanted slogans in favor of naming province 1 Kirat.
