Madhes, Siraha, Siraha

Health workers and cleaners working at Siraha Municipality have protested demanding salary. The cleaners threw the garbage in Siraha market all over the road and protested demanding salary. According to enewitnesses, a police team led by Rajesh Yadav, the in-charge of Ward Police Office, Siraha, intervened at the protest of cleaners who were returning to Mahavir chowk after passing through the market. There was a brief clash after the protestors were agitated over the police intervention. Some protestors sustained minor injuries after being baton-charged by the police during the clash.

The cleaners have been complaining that they were forced to take out the protest after not receiving salary. They also complained that the municipality had not provided them with any health benefits although they were serving the community without a care for their own health.
