22 injured in a clash between the pro-identity group and police in Jhapa

22 people including 10 police were injured in a clash that broke out between the pro-identity group who were protesting against the naming of Province 1 as Koshi and the police on May 9 evening. The demonstrators who took out a torch rally clashed with the police after the police attempted to extinguish the flame. The police used force after the clash turned violent. After the protesters attacked the police, they fired 19 rounds of tear gas, five rounds of black fire, and one round of aerial fire to disperse the crowd and protect public property.
