Police arrested Arpan Rai, Ram Lingden, Vikram Fack, Sapna Rai of Ilam Municipality, Vikram Rai of Rong Rural Municipality, Dharma Limbu of Deumai Municipality, Kumar Fatr, Mahesh Fyak, Ganesh Limbu of Falgunand Rural Municipality of Panchthar District on the charge of displaying the black flag against KP Sharma Oli the chairperson of CPN-UML and former prime minister of Nepal. According to the police, the arrested showed a black flag to Oli on April 27 while Oli was in Ilam Chowk market to the headquarters to address the party's district convention representative council meeting held at Ilam headquarters.
The pro-identity organizations, which have been protesting continuously demanding the cancellation of the Koshi name, have displayed a black flag in Ilam Bazar. Identity supporters have shown black flags to CPN-UML president Khadga Prasad Oli, vice president Subas Nembang and Koshi province name proposer Ram Bahadur Rana Magar. Protesters chanted slogans like 'Abolish Koshi Pradesh and 'KP Oli Murdavad'' and displayed black flags.
