Saptari, Boksi ko arop lagaudai aago ley mukh jhojne giraftar. Police have arrested five locals of Shambhunath VDC on November 15 on charge of assaulting a woman on charge of practicing witchcraft. Krishna Dev Sada, 50, his wife Renu Sada, 45, Renu's sister Ranjana Sada, 40, neighbors Dev Narayan Sada, 30, and Kamala Sada, 28, of Rampur Jamuwa in Shambhunath VDC-10 were arrested for forcing fire into the mouth of Sakunti Devi Saha, 52, of same place. The accused assaulted Sakunti and her husband Bhola Sah, 58, on October 31 accusing them of bewitching a 5-year-old girl of same place, who had died of diarrhea the same day. Ranjana, an Indian national, claiming her as shaman, forced fire after putting it inside a clay pot into the mouth of Sakunti thrice. The victim filed an FIR at the Area Police Office Kalyanpur on November 1. The victim has five sons. She is undergoing treatment at Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.
