Man Gets 25 Years for Trafficking Girl

Bhaktapur, Manab Bechbikhan ka aropit lai 25 barsa jail sajaye. The District Court on November 12 has sentenced Asim Raj Tamang, 29, of Bigu VDC-1 in Dolakha and currently living in Jaisi Dewal, Kathmandu for 25 years imprisonment convicting him of trafficking a 14-year-year to China. According to Bhaktapur district court, a single bench of Judge Lekhnath Dhakal also ordered Tamang to compensate the victim with Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand. Father of the girl had filed a case against Tamang on June 19, 2012 accusing him of taking his daughter in the lure of a job at Khasa, Chinese border town with Nepal on January 31, 2012. Tamang fled away after keeping the girl at a lodge in the Khasa town the next day.
