Udaypur/November 25 District leaders of Sanghiya Samjbadi Party (SSP) have attacked journalist Ram Prasad Bhattarai alias Sachin, 26, of Triyuga Municipality-2 on November 25. Leaders of Ashok Rai led SSP assaulted Bhattarai after news of "Ashok Rai being left alone" was published by the November 25 edition of the Biratnagar-based Ujyalopatra Daily. Those involved in the beating are district chairperson of SSP Sidhanta Rai, vice-chairperson Ghana Shyam Katuwal, secretary of central committee of Agragami Bidhyarthi Union Keshav Rai and district chairperson Angel Rai. According to Bhattarai, the assailants called him at a tea shop in Aaptar while he was heading towards a newspaper shop at around 11 am and assaulted him. He has sustained injury to his cheek. His medical check-up has been conducted at district hospital on November 25. A complaint has been filed against the accused at the District Police Office. Bhattarai is the correspondent of Ujyalopatra Daily and sub-editor at Baruwa Times Daily.
