Budget Crunch Affects Distribution of Relief

District Administration Office, Jumla has stated that the office was facing difficulty to distribute the relief money for the families of killed and disappeared persons due to delay in release of complete budget.

 

According to the data available at Local Peace Committee and Estimation Collection Taskgroup, there are 261 victims including that of Nepal Army, Police and Civilians. A total of Rs 39.2 million has been allocated for the relief of the victims. CDO Mahadev Panta said with this amount, 60 families will not be getting any money so the office was hesitant to distribute the fund. Panta said the required budget had been asked for.

 

In Tanahun, District Adiministration Office distributed Rs 200,000 to the families of the killed and disappeared persons as recently announced by the government. DAO informed 29 families received the money on November 24.
