Bara/ December 4 Police have arrested seven people and registered a rape case against them on December 3 on charge of raping a 28-year-old Indian woman during Gadhimai Mela at Bariyarpur VDC-2. The arrestees are Amit Sraf, 17, of Kalaiya-7, Satish Singh,18, Bibek Shah, Roshan Srivastav, Intaj Alam, 20, of same VDC-8, Bablu Shah, 22, of same VDC-13 and Bikash Shah, 22, of same VDC-4, according to DSP Rabindra Regmi. Police had found the victim in the morning of December 2 in serious condition. Based on the victim's statement, health checkup and nature of the incident it was revealed that she was raped after which the accused were arrested, said DSP Regmi. The victim underwent health checkup at district hospital of Kalaiya on the same day the incident took place. The accused are under police custody.
