Shivaji Prasad Mahato, father of Dipendra said that his son has not been able to speak after the incident despite medical treatment. He added that legal action should have been initiated if his son had committed a crime. The locals had paraded him in the bazaar after he fell over on a school girl in inebriated condition. The locals had taken the decision to take him around the bazaar after smearing black on his face in the presence of the principal of the school. Inspector Binod Dhital of the Area Police Office Simraungahd had rescued him while the locals were taking him around the area, said Rameshwor Mahato, a local journalist.
