KATHMANDU, Rastriye prajatantra party- Nepal le hindu rastriye ko mag gardai Mechi-Mahakali rath yatra suru gareka chan.
DEC 25 - The Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) on Wednesday have started the ‘Mechi-Mahakali Chariot Procession’ from Kakadvitta with an objective to revive Nepal as a Hindu state.
The chariot procession started from Mechi Bridge after worshiping a cow, considered a motherly figure in Hindu religion. The procession was followed by a motorcycle rally with over 500 party cadres participating. The rally, which was led by party Chairman Kamal Thapa along with Co-chairman Keshar Bahadur Bista and other Central Committee leaders, turned to a corner meet after reaching Birtamod. Addressing the meet, Thapa said that his party will continue the protest unless Nepal is revived as a Hindu state. He blamed other political parties of ‘erasing the identity of Nepali people’ by adopting secularism.
The RPP-N is the only mainstream party that has been lobbying for the reinstatement of Hindu state and monarchy.
The 10-day long procession will cover 1,929 km from Mechi to Mahakali and back to Kathmandu .
