NHRC Calls for Resolution of Elderly’s Problems

National Human Rights Commission has issued a statement on January 3 saying its serious attention has been drawn towards the sit-in program staged by the senior citizens for the last 23 months.
Expressing concern over the indifference of the government, the rights body also recalled that Act on Senior Citizens, 2007 and the SC’s January 8, 2011 verdict in favor of the senior citizens ensuring their right to dignified life.
