Rajiman Sarki, 42, of Tripurakot VDC-1 and central committee member of Nepal Congress’s Dalit wing Nepal Dalit Association has been injured in an attack by an unidentified group on the night of January 28. Sarki’s relative informed INSEC that he was assaulted by a group of about four masked men as he was heading for home from Kot Bazaar of Tripurakot. He added that the group accused him of speaking against their party and attacked with sticks and stones leaving Sarki with deep cuts in head and forehead. He is undergoing treatment at a local health facility and the search for the assailants was on, Tripurakot Area Police in-charge Rom Harsha Sijwal.
