Murder suspect of Fr Gaffney in police net after 18 yrs

 A murder suspect accused in the murder of Father Thomas Gaffney, the founder of St Xaviers School, has been apprehended 18 years after the incident. Police made public Gopal Khadka, the accused of the crime, amid a press meet in the Capital today. The police intercepted Khadka at Kakkadvitta while he was trying to re-enter Nepal from India on Monday. According to the police, Khadka was the domestic help at Fr Gaffney’s house. Father Gaffney was found dead on his mattress on the floor of his social center and home at about 8 a.m. on December 13, 1997, with his throat slit but with no evidence of forced entry or a struggle.
