Over a dozen people including two women were injured in a clash in a wedding ceremony at Pataura VDC in the district on Wednesday night. According to police, the clash ensued over an old feud between two groups – one led by Bishwanath Sah and the other by Suresh Yadav - at the wedding ceremony of local Jitendra Sah's daughter. The clash took place while the wedding ceremony was underway in which 19 people were hurt. Eight people including Binod Shah, Shiva Shah, Shankar Bhagat, Surendra Bhagat, Rambabu Bhagat, Gagan Dev Shah, Jitlal Shah, Tetari Devi were injured from Yadav side.
Similarly, 11 people including Ramesh Sah, Ramakanta Sah, Arjun Sah, Dhanpat Sah, Ramchandra Sah, Binda Sah, Pramod Sah, Birendra Sah and Saraswati Sah were injured from Sah side. The condition of Saraswati Devi and Ramesh Sah among the injured is said to be critical. According to police all the injured are undergoing treatment at Gaur Hospital. A team of police deployed to the incident site upon information took the situation under control and managed to rush the injured to the hospital, informed SP Sanu Babu Thapaliya. SP Thapaliya said they are investigating into the case and those found guilty will be brought to book.
