A woman from Maina Maini VDC in Udayapur district has been arrested by the police on the charge of killing her own 6-months old infant son. Binu Basnet of Maina Maini-7 was arrested by the police. According to police, the woman had mischievously sought police's help in locating her son after killing and throwing the dead body in the nearby jungle. The initial investigation by the police indicated that the woman might have killed her infant son in order to marry another man. The body of the infant has been sent to BP Koirala Medical Institute for post-mortem.
