An APF Constable currently posted in Ugratara gana in Kailali was arrested on the charges of beating his wife. Constable Shanta Bahadur Khatri, 32yrs, from Tulsipur in Gulariya Municipality-5 had thrashed his 27-year-old wife Pabitra Khatri on Monday. The victim reported that Shanta Bahadur severely beat her with the intention of killing her by taking her to the jungle at the Santoshi community forest. She was rescued by locals upon hearing her shout for help. DPO Bardiya arrested the constable on Monday although a complaint against the arrested could not be registered on Monday as the victim was late to arrive. DSP Deepak Kumar Basnet of the district police officer informed that the arrested would be charged accordingly after registering a formal complaint on Wednesday.
