The Swargadwari Ashram has suspended the priest of the temple Dandapani Chalise over alleged discrimination against a Dalit couple who had come to the temple to perform prayer. Issuing a press release today management committee of the Ashram said that its attention had been drawn towards recent news about a Dalit couple Bhim Bahadur Nepali and Basanta Nepali who were denied rights to perform ritual prayer inside swargadwari temple for being Dalit. In the press release, the management committee also informed that the priest involved had been suspended for a month. It further said that no devotees coming to the temple would be discriminated on the basis of caste.
