Cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front have tried to set fire in the Rautahat district office of CPN-UML located in the district headquarter Gaur on Thursday. A group of Front cadres who came in motorcycle threw a burning material inside the office secretively avoiding the eyes of the policemen deployed around the area. The group ran away after throwing the burning material. The furniture inside the office has been completely destroyed after catching fire. Police quickly put off the fire before causing further damages in the party office. District Police chief SP Pradhumna Karki informed that protesters threw the burning material at the office from the road and ran away.
CA member Ram Kumar Bhattarai from CPN-UML said that although he had heard that the protesters had thrown petrol bomb inside the party office he was yet to verify the fact. Police confirmed that although a burning material had been thrown inside the CPN-UML party office it was not petrol bomb.
