Police, protesters clash in Birgunj, 12 injured

The situation escalated in Bypass road at Nagma, Birgunj after protesters clashed with police on Monday.
The police resorted to firing 25 rounds in the air and used about a dozen tear-gas shells to disperse the unruly demonstrators.
Earlier, on Sunday, a clash had ensued between security personnel and demonstrators in the same area. Over a dozen people were injured during yesterday’s clash including one Armed Police Force personnel.
