40-year-old Reeta Devi Sah  of Sedhawa VDC-6 was mistreated by her neighbors in the afternoon of August 30 on the charges of bewitching 20-year-old Gudi Kumari Sah. 45-year-old Sarita Devi, 40-year-old  Shila Devi, 17-year-old  Reena Kumari Sah, 21-year-old Gudiya Kumari Sah, and others barged into Reeta's house and pulled her hair accusing her of making Gudi Kumari, niece of NC Sedhawa Booth Unit President Satya Narayan Sah ill. Gudi Kumari suffers from a disease that makes her fall unconscious regularly. Meanwhile, the family of Satya Narayan denied accusing anyone of being a witch. Satya Narayan said that they only swore at her with the word 'witch' as it is common practice to curse at someone with the word during swearing. He said that the incident took place after Reeta hurled water towards his house on August 29. The victim has filed a complaint against Satya Narayan, Ram Narayan at Area Police Office Sedhawa. ASI Mohan Thapa of APO Sedhawa said that steps have been taken to summon both sides and reach an agreement.
