Demonstrators demanding that Nepal be declared Hindu nation clashed with police in New Baneshwor on Monday. Cadres of the RPP-N, Campaign for Hindu Nation led by NC leader Khum Bahadur Khadka and supporters of Kamalnayanacharya took out a rally from Maitighar Mandala soon after the Constituent Assembly (CA) approved to make Nepal a secular state in the new constitution. The clash occurred as the demonstrators attempted to cross the prohibited zone. Police resorted to baton charge and sprayed water cannon to disperse the protesters. Meanwhile, the agitated demonstrators vandalized a vehicle belonging to UN in Baneshwor.
