The Nepalgunj custom checkpoint has remained tensed following the clash between the cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) and security personnel. The clash reportedly ensued after the SLMM cadres resorted to pelting stones at the security personnel at the Nepalgunj border after the latter attempted to intervene the former's obstruction at the customs checkpoint. SLMM cadres reached Rupaidiya customs today morning to give continuity to the protests plans by obstructing the major customs as part of the group’s protest program announced a few days earlier. When security personnel tried to disperse the crowd, the agitated cadres launched an assault upon the former. The situation has remained tense since then.
