UDMF cadres stage demonstration at Nepal-India border near Gaur of Rautahat

Cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and other Madhesi parties continued staging a demonstration at the Nepal-India border near Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, for the fourth consecutive day, on Sunday. The protesters staged a sit-in at the bordering bridge between Gaur of Rautahat and Bairgania of Sitamarhi district of Bihar. Central leaders of Madhes-based parties including Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Anil Kumar Jha have taken part in the demonstration. Addressing the cadres there, leader Jha denied the involvement of any foreign force in their demonstration and claimed that it was solely run by Madhesi people. He claimed that Madhesi protesters have imposed a blockade at border points. The movement of cargo vehicles witnessed a complete halt at the point today also. Meanwhile, Chandranigahapur, a prime market hub in the northern part of the district, has been operating normally despite the protests.
