Former Home Minister Devendra Raj Kandel survived an assassination attempt on his life on Friday. Two Indian sharpshooters tried to shoot Kandel with homemade pistols at his home town in Dubauliya VDC, Nawalparasi at around 1:30 pm, Nawalparasi SP Nal Prasad Upadhayay said. However, Kandel's security put the assailants down before they could open fire.
