An elderly woman was murdered by slitting her throat in Khudi-6 VDC of Lamjung on Saturday night. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Budhakashi Gurung. Budhakashi used to live alone in her house since she lost her husband around two years ago and had no children. Locals who went to check in the house on Sunday afternoon found the woman dead with slit marks on her throat. A troop of police under Lamjung District Police chief, DSP Sambhu Prashad Dhakal proceeded towards the site of the incident after being informed about in on Sunday afternoon. The site is at a distance of around three hours' drive from Lamjung district headquarter Besisahar. Police informed that the victim's nephew Purna Bahadur Gurung was taken into custody for questioning. They are also looking for other possible suspects in the incident.
