Cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) attempted to attack UML leader Rishikesh Pokhrel at Paiyamari of Jhurkiya VDC on November 15. Pokhrel came under attack while returning from a function held to exchange greetings at Morang Area Number: 1. He was hit with the stones while Police tried to remove the obstacles created by the Protesters. UML leader, Pokhrel and UML Secretariat member, Ramlal Sah sustained minor injuries in the attack. Their condition is stable. Agitators vandalized the house of Ghana Shyam Rajbanshi, UML Chairman of Village Committee, informed Mashesh Regmi, UML President, Morang. “Vehicle with registration number Ba 13 Cha 3140 has been damaged due to the attack. UML leader, Pokhrel, Mahafuj Ansari, a central member along other leaders were travelling in the vehicle”, informed Pramod Kharel, Inspector, Morang. “Argument between United Madhesi Morcha, the agitators and Police led to such clash when Police tried to suppress”, accused the Protesters.
