Murder Accused Remanded to Custody

Three persons accused for killing Hem Kumari Shrestha of Panchgachhi7 have been remanded to custody following an order from the district court on July 23.

 

The deceased brother-in-law, Raj Kumar Shrestha, his brother Dilli Shrestha and Dill's wife Nirmala have been remanded to the custody of district jail. Police had arrested them from the incident site on June 28.

 

Hem Kumari had filed a case at district court against her husband Sher Bahadur Shrestha demanding to acquire his property after he had second marriage last year. Since then, all of the arrestees have been threatening to kill her.

 

Hem Kumari was critically injured when Raj Kumar attacked her with a spade in the field on June 28. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment in Biratnagar on June 30.

 

A single bench of judge at district court Gopal Bhattarai had ordered to remand the arrestees and they were remanded to the district jail following the order on July 23, Durga Adhikari, inspector at Jhiljhile Area Police Office said.
