A 27-year-old woman of Phungilung8 has been critically injured after Suman Limbu of same place and Mahendra Samekham of ward no. 1 attacked her with khukuri on December 9 morning. The duo attacked her at her home after she filed a rape case against them.

According to Inspector Kabindra Limbu, the attack came a day after the victim filed a case of gang rape against Suman, Mahendra and Bibek Limbu. Police had arrested Bibek among the accused the same day that she filed her complaint.

The victim has been taken to BPKIHS Dharan after her treatment was not possible in the district hospital.

Inspector Karki added that Bibek was charged with rape while search for the other two was on.
