Local Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) leaders staged a sit-in in front of the Saptari District Court on Monday, demanding the authorities scrap the cases filed against the party activists. Leader of Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal Dinesh Yadav claimed that police arrested the Morcha supporters on fake charges. The Morcha protesters gathered in front of the district court as police produced Ashok Yadav, the main accused in the murder of Assistant Sub-inspector Ramesh Subba, to the court for a scheduled hearing on Monday. Yadav of Jhukati in Saptari was arrested on January 4. (PR)
