A Dalit family expelled from the village by the locals after the Dalit youth married a girl of Thakuri caste. Ganesh Chadara and Jyoti Shah of Gorkhakot-3 were banished from their village four months ago. As a result of the banishment, Ganesh and his wife who are both students of grade 12 will not be able to attend their examination. The young couple is also worried since the girl's family has warned them against entering the village. The two have been living in Khalanga, headquarters of Jajarkot since October. They had eloped on October 26. They shared that they fled their village after Shah's family tried to attack Ganesh and threatened to kill him. Because of the marriage, Ganesh's family including his father Kamaro, sister Yamuna, brother Rajesh, sister-in-law Kalpana and nephew Nischal have also been displaced to the district headquarter.
