The condition of 8-year-old Dipika Rai and 5-year-old Omdip Rai of Shantinagar-1 VDC in Jhapa still remains unknown a week after they went missing. The two siblings who are grade 1 and nursery students of Bright future Boarding school in Shantinagar-1 VDC went missing while they were going to school at around 9:30 in the morning on February 22. Family members suspected that they were abducted after reports emerged that they were seen walking with an unidentified woman. Family members, relatives, locals and police initiated the search for the missing children immediately on the same day. The children's father Dinesh Rai who used to reside in Khotang immediately came to Jhapa after being informed about the missing of his children. A complaint was filed at Area Police Office Buddhabare on February 22. DSP Shyamkrishna Karki of Area Police Office Kakkadbhitta said that they have launched the search for the missing children by distributing their photographs. Similarly, Dinesh Rai, father of the missing children has also appealed INSEC representative to help search for his children.
