Nepali Congress Khotang and the employees loyal to the party today condemned the attack attempt against Nepal Electricity Authority Khotang Chief Purushottam Regmi at his office yesterday. According to sources, Member of Parliament Bishal Bhattarai had attempted to slap Regmi at Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Khadka’s office yesterday. Handing over a memorandum at District Administration Office today, they demanded legal action against the parliamentarian. Nepali Congress termed it anarchic and accused Bhattarai of abusing authority. Tayandra Rai, Nepal Civil Servants’ Union District Chairman, said Bhattarai had picked a tea table and threatened Regmi as he accused him of not implementing the projects in the recommended places. “This incident has demoralised civil servants,”Rai said.
