10 Child Laborers Rescued

Ghorahi Municipality has rescued 10 children employed in risky labour on March 20. Social Development Officer Subodh Regmi of the Municipality said that the children working in hotels and restaurants of Ghorahi as dishwashers were rescued. Inspector Prakash Sapkota of Ward Police Office Ghorahi said that 10 children, including one girl, were rescued after raiding hotels and restaurants in the presence of police, administration, women and children office, rights activists, journalists, representatives of hotel entrepreneur's committee. He informed that the hotel owners were released after signing a paper on condition of bringing five more child labours, who had gone to their villages to the municipality office. Meanwhile, Ghorahi Municipality will be supporting the education of the rescued children and helping their guardians for income generation. The Municipality has said that at least 53 more child labours who were working in hotels would be rescued and rehabilitated to their family.
