Activists of All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), a sister organisation of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist, smeared soot on the face of District Education Officer (DEO) Barakhu Prasad Rajak in Salyan on Tuesday. A group of students barged into the office of DEO Rajak and smeared his face. The students fled soon after the incident. Issuing a statement later, the student organisation claimed that it decided to take action against Rajak for his alleged involvement in irregularities. The students charged him for irregularities in building construction and procurement of goods. DEO Rajak lodged a complaint against the students and urged for legal action against the guilty. Assistant Chief District Officer Ramesh Pandey said a police team was mobilised to arrest the guilty as per Rajak’s complaint.
