A 70-year-old woman was reportedly thrashed to death by her neighbours over a land border dispute, in Lalapatti of Saptari on Sunday. Savitri Devi Khang of Lalapatti-7 was reportedly killed by neighbour 50-year-old Dhanik Lal Khang, his wife 35-year-old Kamali Khang and 30-year-old Dhanik Lal’s son Panchadev. Seriously injured in the attack, Savitri Devi was rushed to the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, where she died during treatment. Meanwhile, the victim’s daughter-in-law Sanju Devi also survived the attack and is undergoing treatment at the same health facility. DSP Dan Bahadur Karki said the victim’s body has been kept at the hospital morgue. Police are looking for the absconding suspects for further investigation.
