Locals of Lakhanpur,Jhapa along with transportation workers staged a chakkajam at Padajungi Chowk this morning over the death of a jeep driver who they claimed,was burned to death inside his vehicle in Ramechhap on Thursday. Demanding action against the murders martyrs status to the victim and blood money worth 1 million rupees, protesters placed the body in the middle of the road for three hours from 8:30 am. Meanwhile, the road was opened later following talks between representatives of agitators and the local administration of Damak after the later pledge to the necessary initiatives to fulfill the agitation's demand. As of now we have stopped our agitation but will be forced to take stern agitation again of th administration reneges in its promise and dilly-dailies in fulfilling our demands, said Hukumsingh Rai, a protester. Earlier, on Thursday jeeo driver Bishal Khadka of Jhapa, Lakhanpur was found burnt to death inside his vehicle in Ramechhap.
