Youths of Itahari demonstrated in support of Health Minister Gagan Thapa. Thapa who is rumoured to be pulled out of government has been the major talk of the town. Youths staged sit-in protest with placards with message, "Let Gagan Thapa work" at main chowk of Itahari. Youths from wider range of organisations agitated for government trying to sack Thapa instead of motivating him for his reforms in health sector. According to Nirajan Khadka one of the participants, Thapa who has taken good initiatives in regard to health insurance and alcohol control act under no circumstances should be backed from government. In a similar note another participant Hira Acharya said that youths should be raising their voice against such evils. स्वास्थ्यमन्त्री गगन थापालाई सरकारबाट फिर्ता बोलाउने कुरा चर्चामा रहेका बेला इटहरीका युवाले थापाको पक्षमा प्रदर्शन गरेका छन्। इटहरीको मुख्य चोकमा भेला भएका युवाले ‘स्वास्थ्य मन्त्री गगन थापालाई काम गर्न देऊ’ भन्ने प्लेकार्ड बोकेर धर्ना दिएका हुन्। विभिन्न सामाजिक संस्थामा आबद्ध युवाहरुले नेपाली स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्रमा राम्रो काम गरेका युवा मन्त्री थापालाई हौसला दिनुको सट्टा उल्टै सरकार बलियो बनाउने बहानामा सरकारबाट फिर्ता बोलाउन लागिएको भन्दै विरोध गरेका हुन्। धर्नामा सहभागी युवा निराजन खड्काले मन्त्री थापाले स्वास्थ्य बिमा मदिरा सम्बन्धी नयाँ नीति लगायतका राम्रा कामको थालनी गरेको भन्दै उनलाई कुनै हालतमा सरकारबाट फिर्ता बोलाउन नहुने बताए। त्यस्तै अर्का सहभागी हिरा आचार्यले राम्रालाई काम गर्ने वातावरण नभएको भन्दै युवाले नै यस्ता विकृतीविरुद्ध आवाज बुलन्द पार्नु पर्ने बताए।
