Manahari locals padlocked the Manahari village development committee office against the decision of the Local Bodies Restructuring Commission to set up the centre of rural municipality beyond the recommendation of the local political mechanism in Makawanpur on Sunday. Earlier, the authorities had agreed to merge Manahari and Handikhola VDC's as Manahari Rural Municipality and set Rajaiya as its centre. The office was padlocked on Sunday with the initiatives of leaders of local political parties. However, district Coordination Committee said that Manahari was a temporary centre while Rajaiya would be set up as permanent centre.
