Area Police Office (APO), Tikapur has arrested a man alleging him of impregnating his own granddaughter. A fifty-two-year old man of Shaktinagar was booked after being accused of getting his thirteen-year-old granddaughter pregnant. After a medical check-up, it was found that the girl was carrying a baby. The accused had reportedly raped the girl about a year ago for the first time. Since then, he has been continuously forcing his granddaughter for sexual intercourse in the absence of other members in the house, the victim had reported to the police. Police said that the man had been threatening her to get his desires fulfilled. Parents of the victim had been working in Kathmandu as laborers. As per the statement of the victim, she was compelled to tolerate everything as she feared for her life. Villagers suspected that she was pregnant after they noticed her swollen belly. They immediately informed the mother of the victim who later took her to a local hospital for check-up. The girl broke her silence when the doctors informed the mother about her pregnancy. Later, the victim's mother filed a complaint at the police station, informed police inspector Pushkar Chand of the APO. He further informed that the girl is under the protection of a non- governmental organization, CWIN. According to the police, the culprit will be charged for rape and incest. टीकापुर नगरपालिका वडा नं. १ का ५२ वर्षीय मानबहादुर थारुले १३ वर्षीया नातिनीलाई गर्भवती बनाएका छन् । उनले घरमा कोही नभएको मौकामा नातिनीलाई बलात्कार गर्ने गरेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । बालिकाको शारीरिक बनावटमा परिवर्तन आएपछि जााच गर्दा गर्भवती रहेको खुल्न आएको थियो । बालिकाका आमाबुवा मजदुरीको लागि काडमाडौमा बस्ने गर्छन् । बृद्धले नातिनीलाई एक वर्षदेखि बलात्कार गर्दै आएको बालिकालाई उद्धृत गर्दै प्रहरीले जनाएको छ । थारुले घटनाबारे कसैलाई भने पिट्ने धम्की दिएको बालिकाले प्रहरीसमक्ष बयान दिएकी छन् । प्रहरी निरीक्षक पुष्कर चन्दले थारुलाई हिरासतमा राखी मुद्दा प्रक्रिया अघि बढाइएको जानकारी दिए ।
