Gulmi/August 2 Bishnu Bahadur Budhthoki, 13, of Seulibang VDC-5, Pyuthan was beaten up by the police on August 2 for peeking inside the station building and then fleeing. Budhathoki had gone to the station to meet his elder brother who was arrested on charge of driving a vehicle without license. Policemen scolded him when he watched inside the building looking for his brother. Fearing the police, Budhathoki ran away but constables, Lokendra Shahi and Goma Thakuri beat him up. He sustained head injuries and nose-bleeding. Raising concern over the incident, the organizations including INSEC district representative, Jagaran Media Centre, District Child Welfare Officer and Community Police reached the District Police Office and demanded action against the involved police personnel.
