At least eight people have been injured after two groups clashed over a dispute to construct a mosque at Lahan-18 in Siraha district on Saturday. Area Police Office, Lahan DSP Ganesh Chand informed that Mohamman Abdul, 55, Samina Khatun, 35, Baijhira Khatun, 55, Chapan Miya, Kalamuddin Miya, Mohammad Kismat, Mohammad Jibcha and Jayanath Khatun were injured in a clash that took place this afternoon. The irate parties had pelted stones at each other during the clash. The injured have sustained injuries to their head, hand and legs and are receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Lahan. DSP Chand informed that the clash erupted after one party started building the mosque while the other jumped in to stop the construction. He further informed that police are investigating the matter.
