Journalists throughout the country are agitated in protest of the arrest of Pokhara based Journalist Arjun Giri and withdrawal of cases filed against him.
Expressing solidarity with the same agitation, Journalists in Nawalparasi picketed District Administration Office Nawalpur on Wednesday for an hour. Nawalpur branch of Press Association Nepal also submitted a memorandum to DAO Nawalpur demanding Giri's release.
Journalists were agitated as saying that Giri's arrest over a news he reported violated the principle of press freedom and freedom of expression.
