Police have arrested 34-year-old Rajendra Ghatani of Ilam Municipality-5 on the charge of raping a 49-year-old woman.

The victim filed a complaint with the District Police Office on 22 April alleging that the man had raped her on 21 April. Ghatana had gone on the run following the incident.

Ghatani was arrested and a rape case was registered in the District Court, according to SP Madhav Shrestha of the District Police Office. Health check-up of the victim was carried out at District Hospital on 23 April.
